Udo
x
Udo (pronounced, "Ooh-doe"), is one of our 2 most recent rescues. He is a year-old Borzoi (Russian Wolfhound), who was left by his "breeder" at the Fort Worth Animal Shelter, along with his brother and sister, when the pups were 9 months old. The shelter called National Borzoi Rescue Foundation the day the pups were left there, and the next day the Rescue coordinator drove half a day across Texas and bailed them out of the shelter. The pups were very underweight, and extremely unsocialized, scared of everything a normal dog takes in stride. In the 3 months our Udo spent as a foster in rescue, he gained 30 pounds!
Udo has some baggage to work through, but in the weeks he's been with us he's made amazing progress, and is well on his way to being a calm and confident dog in our little pack, as well as out in the big world. He is very sweet and loving, still somewhat shy about asking for affection in return, but grateful when it is offered. He has really blossomed in the last 2 weeks, as he has a new best friend in our latest rescue dog, Lulu. He absolutely adores her, and she is such a little clown that he forgets to be shy and fearful when he is with her! |
