| Gusto (Pronounced "Goose-toe") is 7 years old. He was bred specifically to excel at the sport of Schutzhund. We adopted him from his breeder at the age of 6 weeks, intending to train him in the sport, but things changed, and we decided it was not really the sport for us. Goose is an extremely high-energy dog, driven to work, and a natural dominant male ("Alpha Dog"), which keeps us on our toes, and serves to remind us that dogs are animals, canines, predators, not 4-legged children. Goose is a serious dog, but he has matured into a wonderful, beautiful guy, with a goofy sense of humor, and we have some serious fun with him. He likes to invent games with his tennis ball, and if you have something he wants he will drop one of his toys on your lap as a trade, and sit politely in front of you, wagging his tail-tip hopefully while you consider his offer. Nine times out of ten we take the deal, but darned if he doesn't always want the toy back afterward, too! |
