Tired of taking workshops in cramped quarters, possibly with poor lighting, or rickety easels (or none at all!)?  Try this school.  In the picturesque town of Denison, Texas (north of Dallas, near the Oklahoma border), Pat Waymon has established her school in a spacious facility with high ceilings and ample lighting (color corrected flourescents in ceiling and on individual easel lights, and natural light from high windows).  The school supplies students with sturdy custom-built easels, still-life tables, and tabourets.  For the still life painter, at no additional charge the school supplies a large selection of props, fabrics, and a smorgasbord of fresh produce and flowers each day.  Also supplied is a kitchen for meals on-site, and a selection of catered lunches and lunches out, which the student may pre-order if desired.

A huge site of many types of resources for the representional artist, art student, or art collector.  Contains the largest "online Museum" on the Internet, featuring high-quality, often very high-resolution images of the world's great paintings by both contemporary (ie., living) and past Masters. 
Also an excellent collection of essays on the subject, as well as a list of approved art schools and ateliers.

The Fredericksburg Artists' School
Located in the scenic Texas Hill Country, this school boasts a world-class roster of well-known instructors, as well as a charming and roomy new facility, equipped with ceiling light and natural light from high windows.  Props and fabrics provided for still life painters at no additional charge, as well as still life stands complete with shadow-boxes.
